Hospice Offering Volunteer Training
Hospice of Dickinson County is looking for caring individuals who want to make a difference in our community. Volunteer training for those interested in becoming a hospice volunteer has been scheduled. It will be in Abilene, but anyone in Dickinson County is welcome to attend.
The class will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at the Hospice conference room, 1111 N. Brady, Abilene. The class will include hospice basics including how the program works and the roll of the volunteer in the hospice program.
There are many types of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can choose to be involved with the patient and family or assist with mailings, fundraisers, correspondence, and general office support. Hospice of Dickinson County is your local non-profit community Hospice covering all of Dickinson County and out 20 miles from both Abilene and Herington.
Volunteers are a very important part of the care Hospice of Dickinson County provides. For more information, contact Hospice of Dickinson County Volunteer Coordinator Debbie Bielefeld at (785) 263-6630 or show up for the training on August 15.
