The 17th annual Ed Kuntz Memorial Golf Tournament was held June 17 at Great Life Golf and Fitness in Abilene. Seventeen teams participated with challenges and prizes awarded for every hole. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams in each flight. Kelly Sellers, Darren Ditto, Tony Haug, and Tate Wyatt were the overall winners.
Second place went to the team of Mark Picking, Tony Whitehair, Gunnar Anderson, Kevin Tiernan. Finishing in third place were Ben Whitehair, David Whitehair, Brett Sanders, and Jordan Coup.
The winner of this year’s “Golf Ball Drop” was Allison Blake. A total of 338 golf balls were dropped this year and Blake’s ball made it closest to the hole. The total raised from the ball drop was $1690, of which the winner received half and Hospice of Dickinson County received the other half.
Hospice of Dickinson County is a local non-profit organization that accepts all hospice patients that meet criteria regardless of ability to pay. This golf tournament is spearheaded by the Ed Kuntz family and the proceeds are donated to Hospice of Dickinson County for Hospice patient services.
